APO 11

(Detergent non ionic)

S211   Dimethylundecylphosphine oxide
  f.w.: 232.3 daltons

Alkylphosphine oxides ( APO ) are a family of non ionic detergents with a wide range of versatile uses. The detergents are pure crystalline solids, soluble in water and the solutions are stable over long periods. Ideally the alkyl phosphine detergents have low CMC values, are UV transparent and P31 NMR detectable. Alkyl phosphine oxide detergents have been used for purification of high purity DNA without the need to use resins or phenol/chloroform. APO 10 has been used in the two phase separation and purification of proteins.
