(Biotinylation Reagent)

B114   N-Hydroxysuccinimidoiminobiotin trifluoroacetamide
  f.w.: 340.4 daltons

NHS Iminobiotin is an analog of NHS Biotin in which the terminal oxygen atom in the biotin ring structure is replaced with nitrogen. This modification slightly weakens the otherwise very strong binding interaction between biotin and avidin or streptavidin. NHS Iminobiotin can be used for affinity purification methods that require soft release, reversible binding. The reagent is supplied as a trifluoroacetamide salt. NHS Imino biotin is used for labeling amine containing molecules such as antibodies or other proteins.

Quantity Price
50mgm $85.50
100mgm $161.50

Spacer arm 13.5 angstroms. Biotinylation reagent. Cell surface proteins labeled with NHS IMINOBIOTIN can be used to recover plasma membrane components by avidin affinity chromatography. Binds to avidin pH > 9.5 and dissociates at pH 4.0. Reacts with primary amines at pH 7-9 to form a stable amide bond.

  • Reversible binding to avidin prevents protein denaturation during purification
  • Binds to avidin at pH greater than 9.5 and dissociates at pH 4.0
  • Reacts with primary amines at pH 7 to 9 to form a stable amide bond
